Antonio Zambujo sings Chico Buarque
Antonio Zambujo returns to London following his sold-out Union Chapel show last November. The biggest star in Portugal’s contemporary music firmament following, Zambujo is a singer and musician with a singular ability to captivate his audience and has carved out a musical career by steering a unique path that lies between Fado and the traditional polyphonic Cante Alentejano from Southern Portugal. This sound comes to full fruition with his latest record, Até Pensei Que Fosse Minha, which is a tribute to the songs of the great Chico Buarque, and was recorded under the guiding hand of the virtuoso himself. Having toured extensively in Europe and South America, Zambujo brings the Chico Buarque songbook to London for the first time. The concert will also include favourites from Zambujo’s earlier albums.
