London’s favourite FREE Latin festival celebrating the best Latin music and dance is back, bigger and better than ever, on Saturday 9th June. This year we take over the stunning venue that is The Scoop, on the river between Tower Bridge and London Bridge, next to City Hall, while dance classes are available for all at the nearby Hays Galleria. International bands join the plethora of UK-Latin talent, to take you on a journey through Latin Jazz, Fusion, Folk, Latin Funk, Boleros, Samba and Latin Hip-Hop, from 12 noon till 10pm, culminating in a full-on Salsa band and the latest Reggaeton hits via the UK’s best Latin DJs.

MUSIC

Elpidio & Su Alegria Latina (Salsa – Colombia)
Big sound Salsa - a 10 piece orchestra bringing together London’s finest musicians from Cuba, Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador – blending the swing of Cali, Colombia, with the rythmns of Cuba and the sound of Nuyorica to deliver pure, infectious happiness. 8pm.

Omar Puente Quintent- (Jazz Funk – Cuba) One of the world’s most respected Jazz violinists, charismatic bandleader, and  LUKAS winner 2017 for Jazz act, Omar’s unique and energetic Latin Funk band rocks Jazz festivals around the world and is reminiscent of Cuba’s legendary Irakere. 7pm.

Las Hermanas Garcia (Folk – Mexico) Representing the new generation from the vibrant Bolero scene of Guerrero, these two teenage girls are an inspiration to young Mexicans, with 1.3 million strikes on the title track of their first CD and #1 in Spotify’s Bolero Pop Playlist . 2pm

Telajeta  (Jazz/Fusion/Electronica – Venezuela) This 2017 LUKAS winning band brings a fresh approach to the rich tapestry of Venezuelan music. Band leader and percussion maestro Ernesto Marichales reshapes the traditional folk compositions of his native land with London electronica, with mesmerising results. 3pm

Nazari Sound – Latin Hip Hop/Jazz/Salsa - Colombia These three brothers from Bogotá - Ces, Juán & Nené - fuse Jazz, Blues, Funk, Colombian Folklore, Salsa & R&B. An up and coming force in Latin Hip Hop, Nazari has headlined South America’s biggest Hip Hop festival ‘Hip Hop Al Parque’ and launches its debut album titled ‘Nazari Zum Zumm’ at La Clave. 6pm

Haze Samba  (Samba – Brazil) We bring back the 35 member children's Samba bloco that caused a storm last year. With drummers aged 8-14, the group perform traditional Samba Reggae, as well as Samba Funk, Samba Bhangra, and a few other musical surprises! 4pm

La Raza – (Latin Hip Hop – UK/Latin Led by LUKAS winning Urban Act  2017, Mike Kalle, London’s finest Latin Hip Hop outfits join forces in a joint PA performance to show the city the sound of a new bi-cultural generation of London born-Latinos. 5pm

Camilo Menjura and the LOL Choir (Folk - Colombia) Twice LUKAS winning vocalist and musician, Camilo Menjura’s LOL [Landscapes Of Latin-America] Choir perform Latin American and Spanish folk music that they’ve have been exploring for over 4 years in their weekly gatherings in King's Cross. 1pm

DJ Jose Luis and friends With this Collective of the UK’s best- loved Latin DJs, you’ll be guaranteed the best Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Reggaeton, including, the huge Latin hits that have been dominating the global charts throughout the last year. 9pm

DANCE

Richard Marcel’s Latin Dance X-Perience. Tthe choreographer of choice and Latin dance specialist for UK television and artists such as Madonna, George Michael, Take That and Kylie. Between acts Richard will be choreographing his best dancers to wow the crowd.

Latin Fit Machine. With their infectious high-energy fun, these dance animators supreme from Venezuela and Colombia have earned a reputation across London for being a ‘must-have’ at Latin parties,. Combining fitness and dance around ‘Salsa Choke’ - a popular call-based Salsa dance created in the streets of Colombia – Jose and Diego  are guaranteed to make even the stiffest bones and immobile bodies want to join the fun. Their repetoir includes a Cuban Salsa Rueda show and a surprise Flash Mob.

Salsa and Bachata Classes @ Hays Galleria

In parallel to the entertainment on stage at the Scoop, Joe Davids of The Latin Collective offers a choice of 14 classes in Salsa, Bachata, Salsa Cubana, Reggaeton & Rueda, featuring the UKs Top Team of teachers: Olga Ribaka, Sam Hounsell, Raluca Lehadus, Pal Chohan and Joe "The Boss" Davids with special guests James & Evelyn (2017 UK Bachata Stars Champs), Alex & Ashwini, Pebbles & Amie, Andrea Stewart, Magda Sobolewska and Andreas Demetriou.
