LA FIESTA DE SAN JUAN - AID OF THE MEDICAL CRISIS IN VENEZUELA

We hope to raise funds and awareness for two Venezuelan charities through “La Fiesta de San Juan”, a party celebrated on the day of one of the patron Saints of Venezuela, St John, by bringing to you a taste of Venezuelan culture, music and food. Traditionally, the night of “La Fiesta de San Juan” is filled with dancing to the beat of ‘tambores’, a fusion of Latin American and African drumming. We will be having the drums band TAMBOR4 playing live The night will also include a special appearance from the best of London’s Latin American Scene, DJ Carlitos Nunez, alongside a variety of distinctive Venezuelan food and flavours by Liqui-Liqui.  Come along to discover and enjoy a fantastic night of Venezuelan culture.

At “La Fiesta de San Juan in Aid of the Medical Crisis in Venezuela” on Saturday, 24th June, we will be fund raising party for two charities that are dedicated to sending medical resources from the UK to Venezuela.  Healing Venezuela, is a UK registered charity (Number 1170709), that collaborates with the children’s hospital in Caracas, JM de los Rios, by sending everything from basics like baby food, nappies to medical equipment.  All the resources sent by Healing Venezuela are donated by UK hospitals, GPs and health centres.  Programa de Ayuda Humanitaria para Venezuela (PAHPV), is a US registered charity (FDACS#CH 42157) that works at a worldwide level sending medicines to more than 80 NGOs in Venezuela through individual donations.  For this event both charities will be working alongside to raise awareness and much needed funds to cover the transport costs of these donations.  Venezuela is going through the worst economic crisis in its history and the medical sector has been particularly affected by the shortage of medical supplies, the brain drain of specialised doctors and the dire state of its hospitals.
