Here are some THINGS THAT MATTER to ...Criolo
My memories of my childhood with my family mean a lot to me, and are still my fuel.
I first realized I was political when I started to write rap lyrics at eleven years old.
The artists that most inspired me were the Brazilian hip hop groups, Racionais mc's e Facção central
The most influential person in my life has been my mum, Maria Vilani.
My mother was my teacher at school, to a 13 year old boy, going through high school with my mum, in the same school and class, is a huge event.
The Issue I feel most strongly about is social inequality.
The thing that makes me feel most optimistic about the world is my mum's smile. She is a woman who has always fought for art and culture in the periphery, and still does.
I believe in the power of art in all forms.
I feel most sickened by corruption.
The living person I most admire is my mother.
