CALL ME DIVA: The New Latina Darlings of Hollywood

From centre stage to front page, finally Hollywood studios and media are giving Latina Actors some love. About time! Here are a few of the new Latina stars of the moment.

Rachel Zegler
Born to a Colombian mother, Rachel had her breakout moment as María in Steven Spielberg's 2021 adaptation of West Side Story, for which she won a Golden Globe. Since then she has starred in 'The Hunger Games' (2023) and 'Snow White' (2025).

Ana de Armas
The Cuban-Spanish actress started her career at 16, when playing Marie in 2006's Una rosa de Francia. Since then, Ana has starred in 'Knives Out', 'No Time to Die', 'Blade Runner 2049', and 'Ghosted'. Notably, she also starred as Marylyn Munroe in 'Blonde' and soon to your screens 'EDEN' (2024) alongside British actor Jude Law.

Jenna Ortega
The Mexican-Puerto Rican actress became a household name in the last year with her starring role of Wednesday Addams on the hit Netflix series 'Wednesday'. She is currently starring in Netflix' thriller-comedy 'Miller's Girl' with British actor Martin Freeman.

Jessica Alba
The Mexican-American Fantastic Four actress has also starred in several blockbuster movies and television shows, including 'L.A.'s Finest', 'Dark Angel', and 'Sin City'. She currently stars in Netflix's action-thriller 'Trigger Warning' as a skilled Special Forces officer who takes ownership of her father's bar after he dies.

Anya Taylor-Joy
The Argentinian-British actress exploded onto the global screen during lockdown as chess prodigy Beth Harmon from Netflix's 'The Queen's Gambit'. The 27-year-old has been in 'The Menu', 'Last Night in Soho', as Gina Gray in 'Peaky Blinders', and as Olga in 'The Northman'. She currently stars in 'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.'

Zoe Saldaña

This Puertorican-Dominican actor made her film debut as Eva Rodriguez in 'Center Stage', the 2000 film about surviving the cutthroat world of professional ballet. Since then, the 45-year-old has also starred in the 'Avatar' franchise, 'Guardians of the Galaxy', 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl' and 'Star Trek'. She now stars in what is tipped to be the hottest movie of 2025, the operatic crime comedy Emilia Perez, playing a high-powered lawyer Rita who helps a Mexican cartel leader fake their death and undergo sex reassignment operations.

Melissa Barrera
As well as making a splash in  'Carmen', the Mexican actress was barrio sweetheart Vanessa from 'In the Heights' and Liv Rivera in Netflix's survival thriller, 'Keep Breathing', for which she performed some of her own stunts. She's also appeared in 'Scream VI.

Stephanie Beatriz
The Argentine-American actress killed it as Carla in 'In the Heights', but you probably also recognize her as Detective Rosa Diaz from 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine', or as the voice of Mirabel Madrigal in Disney's Encanto.

Leslie Grace
Since being cast as Nina Rosario in In the Heights, this Dominican-American actor was set to fight supervillains as Batgirl, alongside Michael Keaton, in HBO Max's upcoming Batgirl—the first Latina to play the role, until Warner Bros. announced cancelling the release. In 2024 she starred in 'In The Summers' with Rene Perez aka. Residente. For her work as a singer, she has received three Latin Grammy Award nominations. 

Adria Arjona

Daughter of of Latin America's most respected singer-songwriters (Ricardo Arjona), Adria Arjona is establishing an acting career in her own right, with remarkable success. Following her breakthrough role in 2022 with 'Father of the Bride', starring Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan, she has starred in 'The Absence of Eden', 'Hit Man', Los Frikis and 'Blink Twice.'
