More than 150 years ago in the city of Havana, Cuba, the original El Floridita first opened its doors and it swiftly became the most famous bar in the Caribbean. Since that time, El Floridita has been frequented by distinguished visitors to Cuba, ranging from artists to official guests of the government and was forever immortalised when US novelist, Ernest Hemingway, winner of the Nobel Prize for literature, referenced El Floridita in his novel Islands in the Stream. In 2004, Floridita London arrived on Wardour Street, Soho, on the site of the original Marquee club, which witnessed the birth of stars such as Jimmy Hendrix and The Who. Nestled within the heart of Soho, Floridita London emulates the 1930s style of its famous namesake, creating the perfect blend of glamour and decadence from a bygone era. Today Floridita combines three distinctive elements: Latin American-inspired food, legendary cocktails and a wide variety of live music and entertainment. Floridita Live brings the best in Funk, Soul, Latin and Jazz to the Soho stage, showcasing at least two great bands every night and open until the early hours of the morning.
